The invitation has always been seen as one of the essential pieces in the wedding stationery. He is, generally, the first contact of the guests with the party and must bring a taste of the big day, to be able to help everyone in the choice of the clothes and to prepare them for the confraternization that comes around. ✨
Even when the bride and groom do not want to invest in identity, the invitation is still made. But what is the perfect model for my wedding style? I separated the 3 steps of the whole invitation assembly below and explained what each one means. Check it out and find out which model best suits your wedding!
What is the ideal structure for my invitation?
# 1 Envelope
Currently, there are many models available on the market and it is difficult to make a choice. Although it is cool to innovate, remember that the invitation has to bring the style of your party. So it's good to know:
- Horizontal invitations have a more classic feel. The SPOUT ENVELOPE is the most traditional, but you can modernize it a little bit with the STRAIGHT TABLE or the FRAME envelope;
- If you like the different and your party has a modern and creative touch, vertical or square models are the best choices. The GLOVE and FLOWER envelopes have a more modern look. The SQUARES, which are 100% symmetrical, tend to have a more contemporary feel.
# 2 Information Disposal
In the past, it was the parents who organized, paid and invited the guests to the party. It was common for the bride and groom to get little involved in the process and, because of this, the classic construction “parents invite” became the most traditional and is still the most used in the assembly of the invitations. However, this is not a rule.
Wedding parties have gained more and more freedom and today the couple can choose the arrangement that suits them best. The important thing is to have their face.
The more stripped down, the more bohemian and modern it gets. You just need to check if your wedding matches this style.
# 3 Individual Invitation and Gift List
'Extra' elements in the assembly of the invitation, the individual invitation and the list of gifts have been used less and less. This is because, the bride and groom usually insert all this information on the couple's website and the ceremonial makes the individual control so that there is no entry of “party crashers”.
However, for couples who choose them, the cool thing is to insert several information that help the guests at the time of purchase and, also, at the time of arrival at the party - such as adding the date and address of the place.
Of course, these are just structure tips, because when we talk about design, there are no limits! But part of my job when creating a visual identity is to help the bride and groom on how to combine these elements with the design that best matches the style of the wedding. And here, the sky is the limit Therefore, hiring a professional to make this process more pleasant is the best choice.
