As in all areas of the wedding, in the stationery also the news appear frequently and, when we talk about visual elements, the possibilities are endless. Just get in Pinterest to keep your head full of ideas and the inspiration folder full of doubts. 😅
First of all, it is important to define which line you prefer to follow. The visual elements connect with the essence of the couple through 3 main lines. Find out what they are:
Connecting lines of visual elements:
#1 Decor
At first, the most chosen. This is because, the bride and groom tend to create a visual identity only for the wedding, when it should be connected with the complete essence of the couple. If this visual identity has already been thought of beforehand and the decoration is already linked to your story, this way, this connection may be the best choice.

Ex. 1: Sicilian lemons that will be used in the decoration.
#2 Site
Contrary to what many people think, the choice of location cannot be made at random or just for the sake of budget. Choosing between countryside, farm, salon or an unusual place, has to make sense for the couple and their history. Can you imagine choosing a wedding in the country, when you both hate outdoor life? It doesn't make any sense.
And if the site ends up meaning a lot to you, it's interesting to use it at the stationery store.

Ex. 2 - City Hall of Tours in France; place of the couple's civil wedding..
# 3 Visual elements that tell the story of the couple
Fact: each couple has a story and a dream of marriage. Can you imagine inserting into this stationery something that is unique to you 2? The tree where the first kiss was or that trip where the proposal took place ... The possibilities are many! This is the easiest way for the elements to connect to the essence of the couple, as it is something very particular.

Ex. 3: My monogram - colours of nature (something we love) + world map (our passion for travel and our future)
Right after defining the line you want to follow, after defining the style, concept and colour palette (the first steps for a complete identity), you need to know what each element means, then define what they want for you.
Although the most used are the famous florals and foliage, with the watercolour of the place (or the couple) gaining more and more space, have you ever thought about which one best suits your wedding style? Follow the list, see the descriptions and clear that doubt now!
What do visual elements mean?
# 1 Florals
Already, it is worth saying that florals are the most popular elements. They are also the most romantic, and may have a more classic or more modern look. In classic weddings, for example, we tend to use more "flowery" florals, while in boho chic weddings, we work with more "messy" models. However, the idea of romance is always present.
#2 Foliage
These are visual elements that have the same idea as the floral ones, but are more minimalist (both in colour and in proposal). They definitely fit in with classic, bohemian and romantic weddings.
# 3 Watercolour Places
Although the technique is ancient, exclusive watercolours have recently gained space in weddings and, because of this, the technique is considered modern. Watercolours can be linked with different styles, ranging from classic to contemporary, just changing the shape and color palette of the art.
# 4 Creatives
Creative visual elements are part of my list of favourites, as they mix textures, elements and lots of colour! Thus, they are perfect for creative couples, who have a life full of colour and adventure. If the wedding is a destination wedding, it is legal to match the identity of the place where you are getting married.
# 5 Minimalist
As well as the creative ones, the minimalist ones are also among my favorites (I'm a mix of colour, art and minimalism 😂). They bring few or no elements, usually leaving the connection of the entire identity to the fonts and colours of the materials.
# 6 Thematic
Perfect for beach and city weddings; for elopements or destination weddings. The idea is to connect the party's identity to the site, bringing particular elements of the space. Ex .: in Capri, the famous Sicilian lemons; in Portugal, tiles; in the Brazilian Northeast, the beautiful beaches, etc.
Likewise, we can also have themed weddings based on films, games and books. Geek couples love and look super original!
# 7 Watercolour Textures
I love to play with textures! And with them, we managed to transmit different feelings.
If we use only textures, we give a minimalist air to all stationery. If we create a mixture of two or more textures, the air of minimalism is still present, but with a creative touch. On the other hand, when we combine the print with non-abstract elements, we are able to leave the stationery with a face of various styles.
# 8 Geometric Textures
In the same way as in other textures, the geometric ones have a minimalist way. However, there is a small difference: the geometric textures are perfect for more rational, organized and modern couples. Thus, they rarely appear romantic unless they are combined with other elements.
# 9 Brushstroke Textures
Style still little used in Brazil. I particularly love it! With them, it is possible to link the creativity of art with the minimalist of brush strokes. That way, you have an extremely modern and exclusive stationery. Bold, isn't it?
All these and more inspirations you find in my Pinterest, so we can start to get a little out of the obvious. What do you think?
