I had been rehearsing to write this post for months. Now, 3 days after completing 6 months of marriage, I thought it was time to share all the details of my wedding with you. Marcelo and I got married on November 07, 2021, a sunny Sunday morning, when all the forecasts warned that it would rain.
We defined TOGETHER all the details of that day. After all, we wanted people to feel welcomed and comfortable, as if it were a big family barbecue. To achieve this outcome, we first defined the priorities, visual identity and the budget. Our wedding was simple but full of meaning.
My wedding: the bride and groom
The beauty of the mother, grandmother and bride was left to the girls of Home Beauty and truth is, I've never felt so beautiful! The dress is, in fact, a white bodysuit by Agilità Brasil (which I bought on sale) and a skirt that my grandmother made it for me, just the way I wanted. The groom wore a suit rented from Exclusiva Locações and the detail was left for the pocket watch he was looking forward to wearing.
Uma das minhas prioridades era, sem dúvida, a cerimônia religiosa. Para que esse momento fosse ainda mais especial, primeiramente fechamos a igreja. Nos casamos na Comunidade São Domingos Sávio, in Campo Grande/MS, where I met most of my friends and where I met Fr. Rafael, who celebrated this moment.
The ceremony was emotional, funny, unique and special. The cool thing about knowing the priest is that he knew part of the family, friends and conducted everything in a very light and fun way. From the photos, you can picture a little bit of what that moment was like.
Location and decoration
As we wanted a great family lunch, we opted for a cozy and lively place. And the space chosen was Casa Figueira, for being an open place, with many trees, rustic furniture and an environment that didn't require much decoration.
I would like to highlight Pri Ribas, our decorator, who listened to all my wishes! I'm in love with European Styling (lighter, elegant and natural decoration aesthetic) and wanted to bring that style to the party. Foliage, fabrics, candles, delicacy and modernity was what we wanted. As a good listener and excellent professional, Pri decorated the entrance, the tables and the cake space with excellence!
At the entrance, some details that are part of our history: photos, reference to photography and art, signature board with the painting we did together and souvenirs. We chose to gift the guests with tea, which is a drink that we love and that made much more sense than sweets, for example.
The entry frame was also made by me, with the words 'Welcome to Fran and Marcelo's wedding', but in Italian. We wanted to bring some references to our future country of residence already at the wedding, that's why so many details, painting and writing in the language.
On the tables, marked places. All stationery was done by me, with the numbers support made by my father. The names were placed on candy boxes (made with perfection by Raiane Nantes and Marina Verão Doces), closed with fabric scraps (which matched the wedding aesthetic) and the menu was minimalist and elegant, just the way I wanted. The decoration of the centerpieces included lots of greenery and aromatic foliage, which we love.
The party and the cake table
We chose not to have a rehearsed first dance. It wasn't our style. We chose a song that was part of our history and danced the way the moment allowed!
Finally, the most awaited place – at least for me – of decoration: the cake table. It would be our instagrammable space, since we wouldn't have a sweets table. I wanted to highlight the cake (which looked more like a work of art) from Maria’s Confeitaria and to the artistic background painted by us both.
Extra: the children's table
Before ending this post, I would like to emphasize and thank a supplier that made all the difference: the entertainer Kalinca.
Since I started organizing the wedding, I said that I wanted to have a special space for the children. Formal parties tend to be very boring for them and, as the intention was for everyone to have fun, they deserved something special.
With that in mind, I asked Pri to set up a table on the floor so they could paint and play. I made an art kit with an activity book and personalized games, designed for each of them (considering age and interest) and hired the entertainer to take care of them.
Finding Kalinca was one of the most difficult things, because some recommended entertainers were either way over our budget, or they didn't give me the necessary confidence. She was nominated by Pri herself a few weeks before the party. I spoke to her via WhatsApp, I found her to be super professional and friendly, and I closed it on the spot!
And I can tell: the kids LOVED it! They painted, played on the grass, ran and had a great time. At the end of the party, the elders commented how much they liked it and even the parents thanked Kalinca for attending the party. Brides from Campo Grande and region: best investment!
Finally, the supplier that allows us to have all these memories: Guilherme Calazans. The best wedding, kids, travel photographer, everything!
In short, our marriage was simple but full of love. I made a point of thinking about each guest, so that everyone had an unforgettable day. If you liked it, leave your comment, your question, your opinion. It will be a pleasure to hear!
Merci for following me, Francy ♥️
