Christmas Collection - Christmassy Nature
2020 was not an easy year for anyone. When I started to idealize the Christmas collection, my desire was to create something with meaning. The world got used in recent years to a very commercial Christmas and I wanted my creations to carry on feelings.
It was with that in mind, that I developed a smaller collection than last year's in terms of items. However, which would speak much more about me, which would spread more feelings and that would direct my business into the direction I want to follow. And my main inspiration could not be different: nature. Its warmth, its charm and its colours had to be the main elements of this Christmas.
Christmas Collection ‘Christmassy Nature’
First of all, I idealized the watercolour. First, the choice of the colour palette: this time more sober, less Christmassy, for a more elegant and cozy result. Soon after, the elements: foliage, flowers and fruits, for a natural combination. Finally, hands-on to bring all of this to life.
The watercolour production took 3 days, between sketching, testing, painting and digitization!
The second stage was to develop the prints and pieces. As the aim of the collection was to give a new meaning to Christmas, I thought of pieces that could bring people together. So I chose to work with Christmas cards, name tags and advent calendars (my favourites!).
Gifting with Christmas cards is something little done in Brazil yet, but it has strong meanings. This is because, in today's busy times, stopping to write a message is rare and when we do, we show all our love to the people who receive it.
First of all, I wanted more elegant and handmade prints, to show a little more of the changes that are coming. Therefore, I chose 4 compositions that bring all the lightness of the collection:
1. Sweet new year
2. Joyeux Noël
3. Avec amour
4. Merry Xmas
The tags, as well as the cards, have a touch of care. As we will not be able to have big parties in 2020 (due to dear Covid), we will probably have more intimate meetings, only with those who cannot really miss it. Writing the name of each person in a simple gift or marking the places, showing the importance of each one there, shows affection and love.
For the tags, I prepared a collection of 12 mini compositions that can be customized or not.
My favourite part of this Christmas collection is, without a doubt, the two advent calendars. The Advent period, for Christians, began this Sunday, the 29th, and extends until the arrival of the baby Jesus, on the night of the 24/25.
As the Sunday of the Advent varies from year to year, the companies that produce the calendars thought about their reuse and started to create a calendar that started from the 1st to the 24th, to look forward to Christmas.
Here, you will find two calendar templates, to make your wait for the big day even more enjoyable:
Good Deeds Calendar
A minimalist calendar that focuses on 24 good deeds proposed, so you can practice one each day during the advent. These are simple actions, which I will do together with you, so that this wait becomes even more significant.
It is the time to do good deeds with pure heart and rebuild yourself for a Christmas full of love.
Sweet Waiting Calendar
For some people, the calendar is still a novelty and the 24 good deeds may be too much (I know that some are really challenging). So, to make this wait even more enjoyable, I suggested a second calendar, which you can organize with 24 sweets inside.
In order not to become the idea of one dessert a day, I thought of a sharing calendar: at each count, you open each box with your beloved ones and you can all share the gift that is inside. A way to share and unite us after a year full of conflicts and difficulties.
This entire Christmas collection was thought out with great care to share all the love I have for this time of the year and I hope you can live it together with me.
Merci for following me, Francy ♥
